NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE GETS NEW COMMANDANT

A new Commandant has been appointed for the National Defence College, Abuja. He is Rear Admiral Ndidi Patrick Agholor, a member of the Nigerian Defence Academy 28th Regular Course. The appointment takes effect from 11th November 2013.

The senior officer has attended several military and civil courses both in Nigeria and abroad. Some of the Courses include; Sub-Lieutenant Technical Course at INS VENDRUTHY, India       in 1986 and Officers’ Long Course at NNS QUORRA in 1994 where he specialized in Communications. He had his Junior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji in 1992 and Senior Staff Course at Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Teshi in 1997. He attended the National Defence College, Abuja in 2008.

Rear Admiral Agholor has held several appointments ashore and afloat. Some of which include Instructor Communication School, NNS QUORRA in 1993, Executive Officer of NNS ERINOMI and NNS AYAM in 1997 and 1998 respectively, Commanding Officer of NNS BARAMA in 2003, Director of Training Naval Headquarters in 2004 and Executive Officer of NNS ARADU in 2004. He was appointed as a member of Directing Staff at the Armed forces Command and Staff College Jaji in 1999. Other appointments he held were; Principal Staff Officer Coordination at Nigerian Def ence Academy in 2010 and member of Directing Staff at the National Defence College, Abuja.

Until his new appointment, he was the Director of Research and Analytical Studies at the National Defence College. The senior officer is happily married with children. His hobbies include travelling and reading.
