REAR ADMIRAL OLUWAGBIRE OLUSOLA KOLAWOLE NN/1756  GSS psc(+) fdc(+) PhD

1. Rear Admiral Olusola Kolawole Oluwagbire was admitted into the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna on 10 September 1988 as a member of 40 Regular Course. He was commissioned into the Nigerian Navy as a Sub-Lieutenant on 25 September 1993. The Admiral has attended several courses in the course of his career, some of which include the Officers Long Course where he specialized in Communication and Information Technology, the Junior and Senior Staff Courses, as well as the National Defence Course, among others.
2. Rear Admiral Oluwagbire holds a Doctorate of Philosophy degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the New University, Slovenia. He also holds Masters degrees in Maritime Security from Coventry University, United Kingdom, in National Security and War Studies from the National Defence University, Pakistan as well as in International Affairs and Diplomacy from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria. Additionally, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna.
3. The Admiral has held several appointments, some of which include Watch Keeping Duties onboard NNS AMBE, Ships’ Communication Officer onboard NNS AYAM, Naval Assistant to Chief of Administration at the Naval Headquarters as well as Assistant Director Attache Management, Defence Intelligence Agency. Other appointments held include Nigeria’s Defence Attache to Angola with concurrent accreditation to Democratic Republic of Congo, Nambia, Zambia and the Gulf of Guinea Commission, Directing Staff at the National Defence College, Chief Staff Officer, Eastern Naval Command, Director of Operations at the Naval Headquarters and the Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, among others. He is currently the thirty ninth Chief of Logistics at the Naval Headquarters.
4. Rear Admiral Oluwagbire has been awarded the Forces Service Star, Meritorious Service Star, and Distinguished Service Star and Grand Service Star. He is a Fellow of the National Defence University, Pakistan and Distinguished Fellow of the Defence College, Nigeria. He is equally a member of some professional bodies, such as the United States Naval Institute.
5. Rear Admiral Olusola Oluwagbire is happily married to Engineer (Mrs ) Olanrewaju Oluwagbire and the union is blessed with children. His hobbies are reading and writing.
