President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, today Thursday, 30 October 2025, decorated the recently appointed Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, with his new rank. The Chief of the Naval Staff was decorated alongside the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu; and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke.

The President performed the investiture ceremony at the Council Chambers, State House, Abuja.
