REAR ADMIRAL BARATUAIPRI  IYALLA GSS psn rcds Bsc Msc Mtech MA COREN SPE IEEE

1. 1. Rear Admiral Baratuaipri Iyalla was born on 12 April 1970. He hails from Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. He obtained the WASC from the Nigeria Military School, Zaria in 1987. He is a member of the 40th Regular Course Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna and graduated with a BEng Electrical Electronics Engineering. He was commissioned as Sub Lieutenant on 25 September 1993 and rose to the rank of Rear Admiral on 10 September 2020. He completed the Officers’ Application Course at Naval Engineering College, Sapele, Weapon Electrical Engineering Officers Specialist Course at Indian Naval Shipyard, Valsura Jamnager, India, Junior Staff Course at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Senior Staff Course at Naval War College Lahore, Pakistan. He attended the National Defence Course at Royal College of Defence Study, United Kingdom and was awarded Fellow Royal College of Defence Study.
   2. The Admiral served on board various NN ships in different capacity including Weapon Engineering Officer NNS ARADU, Assistant Director Technical Service NEMA, Project Analyst Ship/Helo Project at Project Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate in Naval Headquarters, Officer-In-Charge Fleet Support Unit NNS BEECROFT and General Manager Planning, Naval Dockyard Limited (NDL). Also, he has served as Commander Fleet Support Group West, Commodore Superintendent Naval Shipyard Limited, Director of Project NHQ, Chief Staff Officer Logistic Command, Flag Officer Commanding Logistic Command and MD/CEO Naval Engineering Services Limited.
   3. During his tour of duty at the HQ Log Comd, he ensured the facilitation of Warranty maintenance docking of NNS OJI, facilitation of docking of NNS OSUN for underwater repairs at NDL, facilitation of docking of NNS ZARIA for underwater works in NIWA shipyard, repair and reactivation of 180,000 liters POL dump storage facility at LLD, Non-destructive testing on NN410 components to HSG Ojo, facilitation of the procurement and installation of 2 x double nozzle dispensing machine for SAPLDAND PHLD, facilitation of the re-modeling and furnishing of the re-modelled FSG East office/workshop complex Calabar. Other achievements of the Admiral included facilitation of the modification of 10 x NN paramount boats, repair of 1000 KVA generator at FOT Onne, replacement of NNS SOKOTO high pressure pump control block, refurbishment and operationalization of the 33,000litre fuel tanker at SAPLD and fabrication of the truck linkages as well as facilitation of the repair of the Mercedes Benz truck head at PHLD and SAPLD amongst others.

   The Admiral is decorated with following medals:

   General Service Star (GSS).

   Passed Staff Course (psc).

   Fellow Royal College of Defence Study (rcds).
