REAR ADMIRAL KOHATH GYELPANYI LEVI DSS psc ndc (China) B MSc MNSC COREN

1. Rear Admiral Kolhath Gyelpanyi Levi was born to the family of Mr and Mrs Gyelpanyi Levi on 3 January 1968. He hails from Hong LGA of Adamawa State. He started his early education where he attended Local Education Authority Kawo Kaduna from 1974-1980. Thereafter, he attended Nigeria Military School Zaria from 1982-1987. He commenced his military career on the 10^th September 1988 as a member of 40^th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy 1988-1993. He was commissioned the rank of Sub Lieutenant on 10 September 1993.

2. The Senior Officer has attended several courses. Some of these courses include

Midshipman Training, Officer Application Course, Junior Staff Course, Senior Staff Course at the prestigious Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji Nigeria. Others include Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center, Ghana and the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology. Real Admiral Levi holds various academic degrees some of which include Diploma in Marine Surveyor (Accident Investigation), Bsc in Mechanical Engineering and MSc in Strategic Studies. He is a member of professional bodies which include Nigeria Society of Engineers, member Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria and Member Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals. He is of the Marine Engineer.

3. Real Admiral Levi has held several appointments in command, staff and instruction onboard Nigerian Navy Ships and shore establishments including tri-service institutions. They include; Marine Engineering Officer; NNS EKPE, Chief Instructor Automobile Engineering School; NNEC, Marine Engineering Officer; NNS KYANWA, Officer in Charge Fleet Support Unit; NNS VICTORY, and Fleet Support Marine Engineering Officer. He also served in FSG West as the Staff Officer II, Marine Engineering, NHQ, General Manager Engineering Services, NBCCL, Chief Delegate: Construction of Offshore Patrol Vessel, China, General Manager Plans, NDL, General Manager Production, NDL, Commodore Superintendent; NDL, Admiral Superintendent; NDL, Chief Staff Officer, NAVDOC. He is currently the Chief of Naval Engineering, NHQ.

4. The Senior Officer is happily married to Mrs Lydia Miriam Levi and the marriage is blessed with two boys and a girl. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing volleyball and listening to gospel music.
